Printed Suede Coat – Self Made

Hello People,

Once again I’m back with a 2 in one post style column… the difference this time is that the coat is made, yes, I’m mean stitched by me… as I discussed my new weekend hobby in my last post, so here is the result of it. It didn’t come out easy, be it making pattern of it or deciding on the finishing details, as I sat to work on sewing machine after like, 3 years, but I was pleased to see the end result. Hope you’ll like it too.

As winters are freezing us, and also it’s a festive season, but we’re layering ourselves up with clothes and clothes to feel cozy and ending up compromising on the style quotient somewhere, but no more. I have multiple reasons to justify for this simple looking coat

1st : the fabric : It’s Suede, I love suede, if I could, I’ll fill my wardrobe with it from dresses to coats to trousers, boots to never ending… LOL. The feel of this fabric is just so luxurious.

2nd : The print, it gives an extra brownie to the look and feel of the fabric and adds more richness to the most basic of the patterns you make with it.

3rd : Comfort : Most important of all to me, it’s non-complicated, simple, front hook & eye, adorned with little contrast embroidery at sleeve and bottom hem.

4th : It works wonders with Indian/ western/ family function to wedding or parties.

I know you’re wondering how to pair it up to make it so much more outgoing, Well!!! that’s what the post is all about. I’ll tell you how to be as happening with it, and how to wear it for a small family function… 😀

Pair them up Matt shine panty hose or stocking with long boots, knee / thigh length would do the best.

Wear a subtle color shirt, so that the coat stays the highlight.

Keep yourself warm and stylish…

Here it is, wearing it with this golden flowy palazzo. Apt for festive season.

this coat just compensates for the most minimal of the looks/ makeup/ accessories. I just have a pair of earrings on…

The little contrast embroidery at bottom hem

  1. Hi Pragyee. I really loved the coat stitched by you it’s lovely and it goes very well with the stockings. I just have my doubts about the shirt don’t mind it! I have worked for lakme fashion week so just a suggestion from my end, maybe a tank top would go or a nice T-shirt dress or a polo neck.

I love the palazzo are very pretty especially the matching shoes.

Why don’t you stitch some more coats and sell them? it will be a great seller!

    1. Hey Alisha,
      Great to hear from you.
Would definitely take your suggestions into implementation, I loved the idea of T-shirt dress and polo necks.
Also getting back the hang of stitching, will stitch more and definitely put them to sell…
      Thanks a lot.
      Have a great day…

      Hugs to you too… 🙂
